Composer’s Notes
This tango is the second movement of Pura Vida!, a commission from the Minnesota Orchestra in 2006 for their Young People’s Concert, “Viva Latino! ” The larger work includes narration, as it is intended to introduce the audience to various Latino styles of music. The premiere included dancers, but the Tango works fine as a concert piece on its own.
