Composer’s Notes
This piece has been around since 1983, but is still finding it’s way into programs and is much fun to play. The parts are fairly challenging. Good high school players can probably handle the first two movements, but things get a bit trickier after that. A good bass trombone player is definitely a necessity, and a conductor is helpful but not essential. The movement titles are: I. Stroll; II. Blues for “Flash”; III. Off the Trail; IV. Lazy Ike; V. Take Four.
