Composer’s Notes

I was commissioned to arrange this setting for the Southeast Minnesota Honors Chorale (grades 6-8) for their 2002 summer tour to Canada. It is fun, and accessible to youth ensembles with boys whose voices have recently changed. The flute part contains a hint of the Canadian national anthem as a tribute to the country of its origin. It was premiered at the International Choral Kathaumixw (try to pronounce that one with crackers in your mouth – or even without) at Powell River, British Columbia, July 2002.
