Composer’s Notes
I wrote this piece on request from Dr. Melanie Brooks, co-founder with Stephen Mitton of Leading Tones Music, a publisher that specializes in mixed level repertoire. The title refers to American jazz saxophonist Lester Young (1909-1959), in the hope that the young players may be drawn to his legacy and recordings.
