Composer’s Notes

This was first performed by the Northfield (MN) Youth Choirs in 1990. The poem is an anonymous little ditty about some chickens that are looking for a bite to eat. The chorus parts are not difficult, and the piano part is fun as it scratches and clucks along. (The children get to squawk at the end, too!)
